Over 12,000 cubic yards of TXI Pave Grow was installed at the new Dallas
Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas. The structural soil was installed
from November 2008 to June 2009 to help manage the predicted overflow
parking around the stadium. All the major conventional parking areas at
the stadium are bordered with TXI Pave Grow.
TXI Pave Grow is a blend of expanded shale aggregate and sandy loam soil
over a geo-grid. It is used, as in this case, for overflow parking,
creating a park- like atmosphere for tailgating and
to provide a “green space” around large conventional parking
surfaces to control storm water run off. Other uses for the TXI Pave
Grow are for fire lanes around public buildings and schools such as St.
Edwards University Austin, Texas.
TXI Pave Grow successfully withstood its first test for overflow parking
at the first sold out venue held at the new stadium in June 2009.
TXI Pave Grow was accepted for use at the new Dallas Cowboys Stadium
after many months of testing by the city engineers, landscape
architects, and the Dallas Cowboys Organization.
TXI Pave Grow has been used for many years as a structural soil for
vehicular traffic and parking.
